The Space Economy: Driving Transformation
This forum is open to participants from research centres, SMEs, universities, large industries, incubators, start-ups, innovators, policymakers, institutions, investors, associations, and all professionals engaged in the space and defence sectors.
Since 2015, Andalusia has been hosting the International Forum on Dual-Use Technologies, organized by Andalucía TRADE. This annual forum has contributed to fostering a dynamic ecosystem around dual-use technologies—those with both civilian and military applications—by bringing together SMEs, large corporations, research organizations, and universities to explore collaborative opportunities.
The 2024 edition focuses on the space industry, reflecting Seville's growing role in this sector. The city proudly hosts key organizations and initiatives related to space and innovation, highlighting its strategic importance in fostering industrial and technological development.
Additionally, various European regions are aligning their efforts with the objectives of the new EU Defence Industry Strategy, emphasizing innovation and regional growth. In Andalusia, the focus on "Space and Defence" underscores the potential of this industry to drive economic development in the region.
In this context, the International Forum on Dual Use Technologies 2024 will address the potential for accelerating the space industry across European regions, providing a comprehensive overview of the current opportunities, funding sources, and available instruments in the dual-use space sector.
What is offered to participants?
- Conferences on latest trends on Space and Dual-Use Technologies; Space and Earth Observation domain as new warfare scenario requiring new technologies; EU and private funding opportunities.
- Face-to-face B2B meetings with other participants in order to extend your international network and create strategic partnerships.
- Pitch session showcasing innovative Dual-Use Projects in the Space Sector.

The International Conference is organized by the Regional Ministry of Economy, Finance and European Funds, through the Agency for Economic Transformation and Development of Andalucía (Andalucía TRADE) as a member of the Andalusian node of the Enterprise Europe Network, in collaboration with others Regional Ministries of the Andalusian Government (the Regional Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mines and the Regional Ministry of Universities, Research and Innovation).
